Amber Wild

Founder, Apogee OSSG Learning Center

As a devoted mother of five and a passionate educator, I’ve been on a journey to find the right learning environment for my children since we began homeschooling in 2015.

Over the years, we’ve explored public schools, private options, co-ops, and a variety of alternative education models—but nothing fully aligned with the vision I had for their growth and development. So I decided to build it myself.

That vision became Apogee OSSG Learning Center—an affiliate of the Apogee Strong network—where we’re not just focused on good grades, but on disrupting education in a way that benefits the entire family.

My work with children began at the age of 14, which means I’ve spent over 25 years (since 1996) guiding, teaching, and mentoring young people. The Apogee campus is housed within OSSG, a gymnastics facility that’s been serving children since 1980.

This location reflects our shared philosophy: we’re not just here to develop great gymnasts—we’re here to help raise whole, capable, confident children.

Donna

Head Coach, Apogee OSSG Learning Center

I am an educator, lawyer, and farmer rooted in practical skills and hands-on learning. With over three decades of experience spanning education, law, and agriculture, my work is driven by a dedication to community strength, justice, and sustainability.

As an Employment, Civil Rights, and Corporate Attorney in Massachusetts, I advocated for clients in both state and federal courts, focusing on practical, principled approaches to complex legal challenges. My commitment to building capacity in others extended to my role as a Business Law Professor, where I designed and delivered a curriculum tailored to equip first-generation college students and aspiring entrepreneurs with the legal knowledge necessary for success.

My passion for holistic, learner-centered education inspired me to establish a private education service for pre-law and law school students, emphasizing critical thinking and analytical writing skills. I later expanded my practice to include academic tutoring and coaching for elementary and middle school students, eventually focusing on executive function development through a highly personalized, whole-child approach.

Currently, I integrate my legal and educational background into agricultural initiatives, promoting regenerative practices that strengthen both the land and the lives of those on it.

I hold a Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law and am a URI Master Gardener and School Garden Mentor. Whether in the classroom, courtroom, or crop field, I believe that thriving communities are built on simple, sustainable practices that honor human dignity and local resilience. I am excited to be a part of Apogee OSSG to help guide the next generation of learners.

Kelcey Hopkins

Administrative Staff, Apogee OSSG Learning Center

I’m Kelcey Hopkins, a devoted mother of three and a passionate advocate for lifelong learning, holistic development, and alternative education. With over 15 years of experience working with children, I bring a unique blend of academic training, personal insight, and hands-on expertise to everything I do. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience from Rhode Island College and an Associate’s degree in Business from CCRI, which laid the foundation for my deep understanding of child development and the power of nurturing environments.

As a former competitive gymnast, I developed a strong sense of discipline, perseverance, and teamwork—qualities that now guide my work as a gymnastics coach at Ocean State School of Gymnastics. After years in corporate America, I intentionally shifted my career to focus on meaningful, purpose-driven work with children and families. In addition to coaching, I’m also a trained Birth Doula, a licensed Real Estate Agent, and a Reiki Master—roles that reflect my commitment to guiding, healing, and supporting others through life’s many transitions.

My passion for education and personal growth extends into my own family life, where I’ve pursued alternative approaches to schooling for my daughters. I’m proud to be part of Apogee at Ocean State School of Gymnastics, where I help foster curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. Whether I’m in the gym, at home, or supporting others through birth or healing, I strive to lead by example and show my girls that living with purpose and following your passion can create a truly fulfilling life.
